Last Sunday, Brawn GP's Jenson Button made sure he was still ahead of the Formula One drivers championship. Proving yet again to all his critics, that he is no fluke and he didn't need a safety car to win a race. As expected, the chequered flag has Button's name on it as he finished the Turkish Grand Prix in first place. His win in Istanbul increased his championship points to 63. He has already won 6 out of 7 races in the 2009 F1 season. Indeed the best start in F1 history, so far.
From a one-hit wonder to a championship contender. He's no longer a name worth forgetting in the F1. Now he is headlining everywhere may it be on print or the internet. The British driver has been the most hardworking since the day he started his Formula One career. Dominant is the perfect word to describe his performance this season.
Clearly, he's closing in on the most coveted prize in F1. By far, Button is the most untouchable driver in the competition. McLaren and Ferrari are still trying to find answers on how to stay in the pact but from the looks of it, they are already out of contention. In other words, they've already hit rock bottom, so to speak. Time for them to throw in the towel perhaps.
After taking the last sip of champagne fresh from his win in Turkey, seems he's all set and ready for the next race in his home country, England.
