Undefeated and still hungry for the volleyball 'chip, the DLSU Lady Archers are on a mission. These ladies may look like they all fun and games but they got fire in their eyes. Their loss to UST last year's finals hasn't been forgotten. On Saturday, Lady Archers' Coach Ramil De Jesus couldn't be more happier with his team's performance.
This time around, it's the National University Lady Spikers' turn to taste their dominance. Maricar Nepomuceno and Rialen Sante stellar game didn't do much difference against La Salle. They simply turned from bulldogs to pups.
Jacqueline Alarca was making a statement that they are indeed in the title hunt this year. She scored 13 points (8 spikes and 4 serves) for the Lady Archers and was named best player of the game. De La Salle remains on top of the team standings with a 3-0 record. The NU Lady Spikers are still second banana with 3-2.
DLSU -- 3 NU -- 0 25-11, 25-14, 25-9
The next game was a battle to score a W and join the winners circle. Two struggling teams -- FEU Lady Tamaraws and Adamson Lady Falcons -- both want out of rock bottom of the standings. FEU with mostly rooks on their team are still making adjustments. Adamson on the other hand, got most of the team's roster intact but has yet to find their groove.
The Lady Falcons got into a good start by taking the first set. It got close in the second set and the Lady Tams even it up. The third set clearly surprised Adamson by dominating the third set.
Lady Falcons' Coach Dulce Pante couldn't hide her frustrations on her team's sub par game.
Soon enough Adamson came back to knot the score in the set number 4. It got intense in the 5th and final set of the game but it was the Lady Falcons' experience that spelled the rookie filled Lady Tams' doom. A hard fought win for Adamson to chalk up their first victory 3-2 over the FEU.
Angelina Benting lead the Lady Falcons with 19 points.
Adamson -- 3 FEU -- 2 25-17, 23-15, 14-25, 25-14, 15-10
