Yup, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard -- Superman to fans in O-Town -- is finally getting some love from the 3-stripes. The big fella is already rocking the Adidas Beast -- his first ever signature kicks. Just like Derrick Rose's sneakers, Adidas made his sigs as lightweight as possible to conform with his strength, athleticism and quickness on the court -- like his namesake. You've all seen the vid featuring him and Hollywood actor Ken Jeong, right? That was just a little teaser on his latest sneaks.

The official ad is already out and currently being aired in the US.



The Adidas Beast already made it's official Philippine release last November 1st.

First-Ever Signature Shoes for Dwight Howard

Manila, Philippines (November 1, 2010) – adidas tips off the NBA season with the newest lightweight signature basketball shoes to make Dwight Howard, one of the league’s most dynamic players, dominate the season for Orlando Magic in adidas Beast.

“Dwight Howard is one of the fastest player in the league and we provided him with the lightest adidas shoes to help separate them even more from the pack,” Said Lawrence Norman, adidas Vice President of Global Basketball. “Speed is everything in basketball and to communicate our fast message to players across the world, we created the ‘Fast Don’t Lie’ Campaign to bring fast to life in a fun, loud and unexpected way.

With this, four-time NBA All-Star and two-time defending Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard will be in the paint sporting the new adidas Beast this season, his lightest shoe to date.

Having the Beast be my first signature shoe means a lot to me and I can’t wait to lace them up on the court this season,” said Howard. “They’re light to keep me faster on the court, but we worked really hard to add things from my personal life like my HEY WOOOOOOOOOOORLD greeting to my fans and my ManChild nickname.”

Inspired by the fastest things in nature, the upper feature mixes of textiles and synthetics that help reduce weight and increase stability during cutting movements. Heat is released and proper motion is enabled through basketball specific SPRINTSKIN on the medial and lateral sides of the shoe. The adidas Beast is designed with rich stripes, folded edges and a mix of high gloss matte finishes represent items you would find in Dwight’s closet.

The tongue also features a unique lacing system that allows the player to pop it forward for casual wear or move it back and lace through the loops for a tight fit on the court. Its outsole features PURE MOTION technology, which is a lightweight system that adapts to your foot’s natural movement to give stability and traction on the court. New multi-layer Cilia traction surface provides two levels of traction that adapt to your movements while rubber traction pads add extra grip at the five major contact points under the foot. The new adidas Beast weighs 15 oz, the lightest Howard shoe to date.

The adidas Beast will be available in black, white and blue beginning November 01, 2010 at leading adidas stores for Php 6,295.
