Early this February, the 3-stripes brand officially launched the Derrick Rose's post season signature sneakers -- Adidas D-Rose 3.5. Like the other predecessors, this one is the lightweight and more breathable version of the recently released D-Rose 3. Still has the Sprint frame and Sprint Web technology along with a slot for Adidas miCoach speed cell.

2013 indeed started with a bang as Adidas recently opened their new store at Two Parkade in Bonifacio High Street in Taguig. With the Three-stripes brand expanding their concepts stores, this one is by far their most strategically located branch in the metro. It was definitely a night filled excitement and fun. It's kinda like party there and the atmosphere is very much laid back. The event was graced by guests, media and celebrities -- some of which are brand ambassadors of Adidas.

Y'all remember the first AdiZero Crazy Lights that dropped last year? It pretty much made some noise because of how extremely light those kicks were. Singaporean sneaker designer Mark Ong may be a rock star in the sneaker world but after visiting the Philippines twice, he instantly fell in love with the culture and Pinoy College Hoops.

When a person has a thing for collecting and or wearing sneakers, you’re called a sneakerhead.

That’s true to those who play the game of basketball. And a hoops country like the Philippines is no exception. Although most Filipinos balled on a pair of Flip-flops/sandals/rubber slippers in the streets, having a pair of nice basketball sneakers can give any player a boost of confidence.

The extreme sport of Skateboarding has been around for years. It's no surprise that the sport's popularity is once again back in the Philippines. While "Thrashers" as skateboarders were called back in the 80's (the BMX bikers were known as "Riders" at the time), every thrasher/skater has his/her own custom board. Sure, a skateboard has a standard size and weight but for a thrashers, they like make it their own, jazz it up. Simply put, they have to standout one way or another.

Running is becoming the fastest rising sport in the Philippines -- literally. Every Filipino's hooked on this sport, there's about 2 or 3 race events for each month. Since we're on the topic, Puma recently launched their Puma Faas 250 trainers -- in Jamaican fashion, last June 11, 2011 at the Puma Concept Store in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. The Puma Faas 250 is part of the Puma Faas Lab -- a line of training/running sneakers made exclusively for Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the planet today.

Insanely Light

This is officially my first sneaker review ever. I’ma do my best to give you my insights on Adidas’s latest sneakers, the AdiZero Crazy Light. I got a chance to try on these last May 29 during the sneaker’s official unveiling. From the images I saw on the internet prior to its release, I was really skeptical about it at first. Aesthetically speaking, the 2 colorways (the Sharp Blue/White and Lead/Run White/Electric Green colorways) released are too loud for me but it does look promising indeed. The Derrick Rose PE of the shoe is the best one in my book.

These kicks have been making some noise for quite a while. It’s obvious that many are curious about what they’re really all about. The 3-stripes teased us with a few videos from their official You Tube channel about what could be the lightest sneakers ever made. Derrick Rose and a few Adidas Athletes rocked these during the NBA Playoffs. Still don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, the German brand came up with sneakers that are perhaps lighter than air – the Adidas AdiZero Crazy Light.

Party like an All-Star

Converse is one of the top shoe brands today. You see Chuck Taylors being worn almost everybody no matter the age. Last May 28, the all-star brand celebrated a block party at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. It was a festive event indeed and we Filipinos love to party and have a good time. While Converse will always be connected to the game of basketball, it’s also popular among extreme athletes – Skateboarders, BMX Riders – even those who are into fashion. Sneakerheads are no exception, too.
