Adidas has been in the shoe biz for years and they are back with a vengeance to create revolutionary sneaks that’s really fresh and full of flair. Last August 14, the 3-stripes unveiled the Adidas Fluid Trainers – a simultaneous event with participating Adidas Concept Stores all over Asia – the Philippines took part in the release as well.
With the synchronized launch happening, three of the biggest Adidas stores dropped Fluid Trainers in the same night – Adidas Greenbelt 3 branch was one of them.
Take your pick? The new sneaks from the Adidas has many color ways to choose from.

The night started off with Street dancers performing their moves while rocking their Fluid Trainers. It was a sneak preview of what the kicks can do on your feet – performance wise. There a few Parkour enthusiasts that joined the event featuring the Fluid Trainers, as they took them to the extreme. It didn’t stop there however, Radio DJ Slick Rick of Magic 89.9 (I love the color way of the Fluid Trainers he wore at the time) and BTV’s Lia Cruz (rocking the hot pink joints) hosted the event – how could you not forget actor JLC or John Lloyd Cruz at the launch? He was spotted copping a pair after his hosting gig.
Slick, Clean and Stylish
By looking at it, the shoe itself is dope. It has breathable mesh (some are combined with canvass-like material depending on the color way) for the upper for absolute comfort while you train or just simply walking around at the mall. Most of the color ways that dropped had white soles – that made it hot, by the way. Them sneaks are just sexy – in my humble opinion.

The overall design is great, not too loud yet it can still make some noise and some heads turn whether you rock them in pants or shorts. Don’t let the simple looks fool you – they scream, if y’all know what I mean.
Be lighter, faster
The Fluid Trainers have soft, lightweight, non-marking soles for added cushioning and better performance. Did I mention the soles are also flexible? The flexible soles provide you lightning quick response – making you run faster and perform better. With the shoe’s overall flexibility, it mimics the way your feet reacts/moves whether you’re in a marathon or just walking around the mall. The breathable upper is just the first step in the shoe’s featherweight features.

Now you won’t have any excuses when you put these on. If these don’t enhance the way you perform or train, I don’t know what will.
Made to last for years
Most cross-training sneaks would last only a couple of years – the Fluid Trainers can perhaps last longer than that. The Fluid Trainers were designed as a one-piece shoe – having lesser stitches/seams – the upper is stitched directly on the sole making them more durable and have that clean look.
In terms of comfort, the sneaks are pretty much made for narrow footed folks. For a guy like me that has wide feet, I didn’t have any problems trying them on (I got a chance to do that a week after the launch). As I tried walking on them, it didn’t feel like a shoe – it was like wearing a pair of socks with rubber soles stitched on it. The breathable upper kept my feet cool even with socks on – they were just mad comfy and light, I tell you.
At Php 4295 a pair, these are the best multi-purpose kicks money can buy. Everything that you need in a shoe – it’s got it. You can rock these in training; break dancing, running or chilling somewhere in the metro. They’re now available at all Adidas Concept Stores all over the Philippines.
I’ma be copping a pair soon though.

Thanks to the organizers of the event for giving me the privilege and opportunity to cover the event. Kudos to Adidas Philippines for the successful shoe launch last August – I had a blast there.
