The Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets are in town for the historic 2013 NBA Global Games in the Philippines. It's a no brainer of course for Filipino fans to recognize players like Jeremy Lin, James Harden, Chandler Parsons for the Rockets Paul George, Roy Hibbert and Danny Granger of the Pacers as the game tip-off tonight at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila. But they got some new guys as well. Speaking of new guys, Rookie Solomon Hill is just one those that will see action in tonight's game for the Indiana Pacers.
The 6'7" Rook knows that last season was a big step for the Pacers as they almost made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. But like all the other teams, they have to have the same competitiveness like they did last season. "
Defending Champs Miami Heat are no doubt the team to beat but with every team beefing up their rosters, Hill says the Chicago Bulls and the Brooklyn Nets are the other contenders for Playoffs dominance in the East.
"There are a lot of teams emerging. You see what the Brooklyn Nets are doing over there. Derrick Rose with Chicago – he’s back. It’s anybody’s game.Once you get to the playoffs – once that goes you’re trying to get home court advantage."
Speaking of the playoffs, Hill is hopeful that they can replicate the Pacers' playoff run last year.
"That’s the goal. That should be the minimum of what we’re trying to do this year. Hopefully we can get back to where we were and push that."
Now that Larry Bird is back in Indiana,it could be a sign of things to come for the Pacers.
"It’s great y’know. It only means great things for the team," the Rookie said with a smile.
"He’s been successful and great in all levels of the sport as a president, as a coach and as a player – it only adds our character as a whole organization."
