To those who grew up in the 80's may remember the movie Back To The Future II which starred Michael J. Fox. The said movie showed us supposedly a glimpse of what would've been "the kicks of the future" in the year 2015 -- the Nike Mag. It's the same pair of sneakers that protagonist Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) rocked in the film and the folks from the Swoosh brand are bringing them back for a cause.

The Nike Mag: back for a cause.

Every detail of the shoe is virtually the same as the one seen in the movie -- from it's shape/mold down to the neon lights on the outsole (not sure if it also has the auto-lacing features like the one in the movie).

Though the sneakers are only available via auction on ebay (the bidding began on September 8), all proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's disease research. Hit up http://www.nikemag.ebay.com to make a bid for a piece from the movie of sorts.

Only 1500 pairs are being auctioned by the way.

Via NikeMedia.com:

The NIKE MAG is no longer the “greatest shoe never made.” The mythical shoe that originally captured the imagination of audiences in Back to the Future II is being released – and they’re here to help create a future without Parkinson’s disease.

1500 pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG will be auctioned on eBay with all net proceeds going directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Each day for the duration of the ten-day auction, one hundred and fifty pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG shoes will be made available via eBay’s Fashion Vault. The auction starts September 8, 8:30PM PST, and will end September 18. Thanks to a previous 50 million dollar match given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, all donations will be matched, effectively doubling the contributions from the auction.

The actor made an appearance on David Letterman's show as he talked about the kicks and a future without Parkinson's disease. In case y'all missed it, you can view the vid below.

So if y'all want to own a piece from a Hollywood film and help for a cause, bid for your pair at http://www.nikemag.ebay.com.

Let's all support this for a future without Parkinson's disease.
