The sport of football is rapidly getting popular these days since the Philippine Azkals' successful run at the Suzuki Cup in 2010. Fans show their support by wearing replica jerseys of the Azkals in each of their games. A couple of weeks ago, the Azkals took a bigger step by signing with German sports brand Puma as their new provider of official team kits and equipment.
On June 1, the Azkals first debuted the new kits made by Puma during their away match against Malaysia. It's was actually their white home jerseys they wore at the time. Then on the 5th of June, the team was sporting the navy blue away kits for their match against Indonesia and last Tuesday, they wore their home kits again in their game against Guam in Panaad, Bacolod.
With the signing of Azkals players Misagh Bahadoran, Ian Araneta and Carli de Murga as brand ambassadors for Puma, it's a no brainer for the whole pack to join the leaping cat.
While the current kits (for friendly matches) they are using are still not available in the market, we football fans can expect a truly unique design and technologically advanced football kits -- to be worn by the Azkals in upcoming international tournaments -- that will be sold at Puma stores soon.
For now though, we'll all just have to wait for further announcements from Puma regarding the Azkals jerseys.
