The NBA has once given the Philippines some basketball love. With the success of NBA events in the country like the NBA Fit, NBA Asia Challenge and Jr. NBA; the Filipinos are in for a treat this July for more basketball action – the NBA 3 on 3 Philippines 2011.

The inaugural NBA 3 on 3 Philippines 2011 – in partnership with Sprite – will run for three days from July 1-3 at the SM Mall of Asia’s Music hall. The event was launched during the NBA Finals viewing party for the media last June 3 at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt 3, Makati. Mr. Ed Winkle, NBA Asia’s Senior Director for Business Development & Marketing Partnerships made the official announcement at halftime of game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat. And what would an NBA event be without an NBA Legend dropping by.

Former Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers forward Horace Grant will be visiting Manila for the first time to grace the NBA 3 on 3 Philippines 2011. Dude is a 4-time NBA Champion and has teamed up with some of the best NBA Players like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neil (LA Lakers), Scottie Pippen and the GOAT Michael Jordan (Chicago Bulls). Like all the NBA Legends that visited the country, he will be conducting basketball clinics and also do some community work under the NBA Cares program. Of course, he’ll get a chance to meet and greet his Filipino fans during his visit as well.

Horace Grant sure is excited of his upcoming visit here in the Philippines:

"I'm really looking forward to my trip to the Philippines. I've heard that it's a nation that loves basketball and I can't wait to meet the participants of the NBA 3-on-3 Philippines 2011 Presented by Sprite tournament. I have never been to Manila before but look forward to participating in the NBA Cares event and helping teach the great sport of basketball. See you all in July!"
