The UST Tigresses are by far the favorites in challenging defending champs La Salle for the coveted Volleyball title in UAAP season 76. They currently have a 1-1 record thus far. Their first loss came at the hands of the DLSU Lady Spikers last Sunday. Albeit wounded, the Tigresses are not to be underestimated. After all, competition hasn't even heated up.

Experience from the Uni Games

On the brighter side, UST has learned a lot from their experience at the recent 2013 University Games last October. Their trip to Bacolod was indeed a fruitful one. They won the Volleyball championship against a young and formidable FEU Lady Tamaraws in that tournament.

For Coach Odjie Mamon, a lot has improved since their stint at the Uni Games. That trip also helped his team boost their chemistry minus the services of current Captain of the Tigresses at the time .

"Mas smooth na yung transition namin. Yung movement naming from attack to defense, defense to attack," said Coach Mamon.

"Tsaka nag gel well yung mga players kasi sa Uni Games di namin kasama si Loren (Lantin)," he added.

Playing it safe on Rookie Tricia Santos's debut

With the Tigresses set to play the UE Lady Red Warriors this Saturday, fans are wondering when Rookie Tricia Santos will make her official Indoor Volleyball debut this Season -- albeit the fact that she did saw action last semester for Beach Volleyball.

The UST coach is in no rush to play one of his prized rookies in the first round. But alas, he sort of gave a time table when the fans are gonna see Tricia in a Tigresses jersey for the first time. The reason for holding back on her was because she just came from an injury before the season -- which Coach Odjie did not disclose at the moment.

"Next round -- kasi kakagaling lang niya ng injury," The Tigresses' Coach said.
