Host school Adamson University have had quite a rocky start in season 76 of UAAP Women's Volleyball. It's become an up and down road so to speak for the Lady Falcons despite having such a solid lineup for this season. Pau Soriano may have been a big loss to the team but somehow Adamson finds a way to compromise and forge much needed wins.

Their game recently against UST is a very good example of that. It was on the heels of coming off a very bad loss to Ateneo on December 2013. Who would've thought a team like Adamson would lose to a rebuilding Ateneo team? Their game against UST was a different story.

The Lady Falcons were finally making plays. They executed their attacks well and their defense was superb. They played so damn good, they won against the UST Golden Tigresses in 3 straight sets. Adamson Coach couldn't be more happier with his team's performance.

The team pretty much learned a lot from their loss to Ateneo.

"Usap lang yung naging problema. Kasi yung last time, medyo nagka galit-galit – nagalit ako nung nakaraan – kasi disappointed sa ginagalaw talaga," Coach Sherwin said.

"Kasi kaya naman talaga nila eh. Sila din nakipag usap sa akin kung ano ba yung problema, nag work naman."

The Adamson Coach stressed that he din't make a whole lot of adjustments, it was the team's willingness to get a W is what gave them the victory over UST.

"Wala naman kaming ginawang adjustment. Talaga yung attitude lang nung bawat player na willing manalo. Kasi about sa skills, nandon naman yung skills nila e. So, yung willing lang manalo, yun lang – adjustment lang."

Meneses even praised the performance of Rookie Libero Jellie Tempiatura who started and played the entire game for the entire instead of resident Libero Cess Listana. He says, it wasn't a gamble on his part shaking up his starters in that game.

"Hindi, actually di ba kahit sino naman ginagamit ko dyan eh. So pag nilista ko sila sa first six, ready yan lahat," the Lady Falcons Coach explained.

"Wala namang gamble na nangyari kasi lahat naman sila nagdedeliver. Kasi nga yung bench namin okay naman eh. Kahit sinong hugotin kailangan mag contribute. Eh binuwenas ng konti, nagstep up yung libero at si Erika [Alkuino]."

Another player that made heads turn was Amanda Villanueva who stepped up big time to help Adamson get the crucial W against UST at the time. Coach Sherwin was very much pleased with her performance.

"Maganda yung nilaro ni Mands eh. Actually talaga, si Mands yung number 1 attacker namin," He said.

"So dapat kompiyansa siya at tsaka gamitan ng isip at hindi puro power yung mangyayari kasi talagang babantayan siya eh. So maganda naman yung resulta ng nilaro niya. At ang mahalaga don nag depensa siya at nag receive."

Albeit, the team's excellent performance, Adamson literally took advantage of UST's mistakes in the process.

"Na take advantage namin yun kasi nangyari na sa amin yun eh. Yung mga errors ng UST take advantage ng kalaban. So, less errors lamang sa panalo."

With their game against the UE Lady Warriors this Sunday, the Adamson Coach stressed that they have to minimize their errors and not get too complacent.

"Depende kasi sa amin eh. Kahit sinong team pwede kami talunin. Basta sinumpong ng errors yung team. So di kami magkokompiyansa."
