Libero Den-den Lazaro says facing defending champs DLSU Lady Spikers a tall order for the Ateneo Lady Eagles

Ateneo Libero Den-den Lazaro knows that facing the defending champs La Salle
will be their toughest challenge in the UAAP 76 Women's Volleyball tournament.

This Sunday is gonna be a big day for UAAP 76 Women's Volleyball. Host school Adamson University will go up against National University in the first game. The main game will feature the much awaited clash between rival schools Ateneo and La Salle. It's worth noting that although the Lady Eagles have been on a win streak of their own, they face the defending champions whom are also gunning for their 6th win.

For Libero Den-den Lazaro, they have been getting W's so far but every game is a learning experience for the team.

"Well, so far so good we’re winning but then siyempre every game we have to get better," Lazaro said. "Kailangan i-apply yung mga experiences namin every game, we learn from our mistakes and we have to get better every time."

In their hard-fought win against UST last Wednesday, Ateneo Rookie Ana Gopico suffered a knee injury late in the Fourth set. Gopico's injury was indeed a big loss for the Lady Eagles going into their big match up against the DLSU Lady Spikers. She stressed they still have some players that can fill in the void left by the Rookie but the team's hoping Gopico will get back in the roster soon.

"Big loss siya but then you know may ibang players naman that can step up to the plate," Ateneo's petite Libero admitted. "We’re praying na lang na Ana will get better."

With their win streak on the line, their match up against the Lady Spikers this afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena will indeed be a tough one for the Lady Eagles. Ateneo's resident Libero knows that it's gonna take a lot of effort to get a W on a team like La Salle.

"It’s gonna be a tall order, it’s gonna be a tough game," stressed Lazaro. "La Salle is an unbeaten team – champion sila – they are very confident when they play. So kami, we have to level up yung game namin and do better."
