The Adamson Lady Falcons are looking to get their groove back as there are only a handful of games left the in the first round of UAAP 76 Women's Volleyball. Fresh from their big win against UST last December, they're in the hopes of making a repeat performance against the UE Lady Warriors this Sunday afternoon.

Speaking of performance, the Lady Falcons' Mayette Zapanta praised the team's efforts in the recent game versus the Golden Tigresses. She and the team literally learned a lot from their game against Ateneo before.

"Nag contribute yung mga quickers namin. Kasi yung nangyari sa game namin previously with Ateneo, parang puro open yung plays namin," Mayette explained.

"Nag kulang kami sa pag execute ng mga plays namin lalo na yung sa gitna na tao – di sila maka block. Medyo kinapos kami . So sa training, nag focus kami don sa quickers namin kailangan makapag block sila at makapag contribute ng points kahit papaano."

It was indeed a break out game for Rookie Libero Jellie Tempiatura against UST. Having played the entire game for the Lady Falcons, the rookie has skills and has yet to grow as her time playing in the UAAP progresses.

"Si Jellie kasi magaling naman talaga eh. Bata pa lang pero andun naman yung skills niya," the veteran Lady Falcon said.

Fans actually expected to see a match up between her and UST Rookie Tricia Santos whom she's a dear friend of hers. Although the matchup didn't happen, she says there's still a very good chance for them to play against each other in the second round of the tournament.

"Si Tricia bata pa yun at tsaka dadating rin yung time nya. Kaya okay lang yun. Madami pang next time – may second round pa," Mayette said with a smile.

One of her teammates, Amanda Villanueva also had a break out performance against UST. She says that she's happy that Amanda was given a chance to prove herself and she didn't disappoint.

"Magaling si Amanda – magaling naman talaga siya eh. Kung baga di pa siya nabibigyan masyado ng break. So binigyan naman siya ng chance ni Coach para patunayan niya yung sarili nya at obviously nagampanan naman niya."

With the Lady Falcons facing the rookie-filled UE Lady Warriors this Sunday afternoon, Mayette expects the team to focus on the task at hand and play as one cohesive unit.

"Hindi pwede isa or dalawa lang yung gagawa. Kailangan lahat magtulong-tulong,"Mayette stressed.
