Are y'all ready for some Volleyball action? Basketball season is over in the UAAP and it's now the ladies time to shine for some ball tossing and spiking madness. This will be my first time to cover this fast paced sport. Indeed, it's just like watching basketball minus the dribbling and the hoops. HOWEVA, I ain't a virgin when it comes to watching Volleyball games UAAP style.

Although, I'm an avid follower of the De La Sale Green Archers, I've been a big fan of former FEU tosser Rachel Anne Daquis. The gal is almost 6 feet tall and was a dominant force for the Lady Tamaraws in the Volleyball scene. After graduating, she joined the FEU couching staff as one of the assistant coaches. Her playing days in the UAAP may be done but she still plays for the Lady Tams via the Shakey's V-League.

With new stars rising in the UAAP, Daquis knows the sport is in good hands. FEU is still the team to beat but don't sleep on schools like UST, De La Salle University and Ateneo -- they all hungry for the top prize this season.

The UAAP Volleyball season 73 begins on Saturday, November 27 and the opening games will be aired @ 2 pm LIVE on Studio 23.
