The National University Lady Spikers turn out to be the dark horse team in the tournament. Albeit having mostly rookies in their roster, NU could perhaps make it to the Final Four. They literally made an example out of the University of the East Lady Red Warriors on Wednesday -- fresh from their forgettable loss to Adamson last Saturday.

The first two sets belonged to NU. They almost dominated the entire game until the Lady Warriors got a wake up call and took the third set. In the end, NU's strong plays was too much to handle for UE. The National University Lady Spikers won 3 sets to 1.

Maricar Nepomuceno of NU lead her team with 27 points (25 attacks, 10 digs).

UE Lady Warriors ace Mary Cristel Rosale scored 12 points (9 attacks, 2 serves, 6 digs) for her team.

In the second game, the Adamson Lady Falcons seem to have already found their groove. Fresh from their loss to rivals DLSU Lady Archers, the Ateneo Lady Eagles were looking to bounce from their heartbreaking loss last Sunday.

Lady Falcons Coach Dulce Pante seem to be pleased with her girls' performance in the past few games and didn't waste time to take on their next opponents.

Adamson aggressiveness both on the offensive and defensive end paid off in the first set. Ateneo gave Adamson a run for their money as they kept the game close in the second set. It was by far, the Lady Eagles' strongest set but the Lady Falcons somehow found a way to break Ateneo's momentum and take set number 2.

Ateneo seemed to have given up on the game but came back to life late in the third set. Gretchen Ho and Angeline Gervacio gave Ateneo some much needed boost in the offensive end. Adamson kept their poise sans Ateneo's late push as they swept the Lady Eagles 3 sets to nil.

Ma. Paulina Soriano of Adamson was named the best player of the game scoring 16 points (13 attacks, 2 blocks) while teammate Angela Benting also had 16 points (15 attacks, 1 serve, 9 digs).

Ateneo's Angeline Gervacio had 14 points (13 attacks, 14 digs) in the game.
