These kicks have been making some noise for quite a while. It’s obvious that many are curious about what they’re really all about. The 3-stripes teased us with a few videos from their official You Tube channel about what could be the lightest sneakers ever made. Derrick Rose and a few Adidas Athletes rocked these during the NBA Playoffs. Still don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, the German brand came up with sneakers that are perhaps lighter than air – the Adidas AdiZero Crazy Light.

Party like an All-Star

Converse is one of the top shoe brands today. You see Chuck Taylors being worn almost everybody no matter the age. Last May 28, the all-star brand celebrated a block party at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. It was a festive event indeed and we Filipinos love to party and have a good time. While Converse will always be connected to the game of basketball, it’s also popular among extreme athletes – Skateboarders, BMX Riders – even those who are into fashion. Sneakerheads are no exception, too.

Y’all heard about the book Pacific Rims, right? I’m pretty sure most of you basketball fans got their hands on its first release. It sold like hotcakes last year. Hell, I even had to order my copy because the book was virtually sold out. I was lucky enough to have my copy signed by the man himself – Rafe Bartholomew, author of Pacific Rims.

22nd Fiba-Asia Champions Cup Philippines 2011 Tournament Schedule

As y'all have heard in the past few months, the Philippines will be hosting the 22nd Fiba-Asia Champions Cup featuring the best basketball teams in Asia. Smart-Gilas Pilipinas is one of the teams that will be in the competition. The tournament runs for about a week -- 8 days to be exact, including the rest day on June 2nd. This will be a very tight ballin' action indeed. The tourney begins on May 28, Saturday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

It all begins with a Free Run

The Philippine leg of the Adidas King of the Road 2011 will be happening on October 23 2011 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. This said running event is perhaps the biggest one of all. In-line with the KOTR, the 3-stripes have opened up early bird registrations from June 1-14 only. Those who signed up early will be eligible to join the Free Run prior to KOTR race.

SLAM Philippines is here! Yes, y'all heard it right! The most popular basketball mag in the US has officially made it's way in Philippine shores. It's the same SLAM mag we all enjoyed and love but with some Filipino flavor, if y'all know what I mean.

I saw this event via Sole Movement and I thought I'd share this with y'all. Reebok will be holding a run event on June 5 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. While there are a lot of running events popping up here and there, I think this is one event run enthusiasts shouldn't miss.

The 3-stripes celebrated 2-days of fun-filled activities last May 14 & 15 at the front of the EastWood City Mall in Libis, QC. The event started at 10 pm of the 14th and was kicked off with some B-Boy and B-Girl action and Graffiti art contest. Though I wasn't there on the first day (or night) of the event, I knew a lot peeps would be there and show Adidas some love.

Everybody waited for this fight for months. It's not exactly the one we've all been waiting to happen, of course (Pacquiao-Mayweather) but it did somehow suffice the fight fans all over the world. Even I was just as excited to see this bout happen. Most of us even stocked up for some Pacman gear before the big day. It's a no-brainer for sure.

LeBron's kicks get an upgrade

As of this writing, the Miami Heat are playing the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs. With that in mind, King James got a new pair of kicks -- sort of. It's the same Nike LeBron 8's he's been rocking but with a much lighter twist. Nike introduces a new version of LeBron's signature shoe specially made for the playoffs -- The LeBron 8 PS.
