TnT clobbers Clickers, Bolts shock Tigers

Clutch player: The Meralco Bolts' Mac Cardona's heroics pulled off a win a against the Powerade Tigers 98-96.

So the predictions I did from last Wednesday's games were rather close. The Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters PWN3D the Shopinas.com Clickers for another W. Looks like its back to the old drawing board for coach Franz Pumaren. Not exactly a good debut for the former De LinkLa Salle Green Archers coach.

As for the Meralco Bolts and Powerade Tigers, it was indeed a slugfest. In the end though, it was the Bolts that came out on top for the win.

Jayson Castro leads depleted Tropang Texters

With a few key players missing due to injuries for the Texters, who better to lead the team than one Jayson Castro. Right off the bat, Castro jump-started their offense thus made things a whole lot easier for the team score from all cylinders and getting that all important W.

Castro chalked up 17 points while rookie bigman Japeth Aquilar added 16 for the Tropang Texters.

Jojo Duncil and the rest of the Clickers did everything they could to pull-off an upset over the Tropang Texters. He finished with 16 points.

The TnT Tropang Texters are still at the top of the standings with 7-1 record. The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (7-2) are right behind them at the number 2 spot.

Jolt them Tigers

I expected this particular game to focus on the match-up between the Bolts' Sol Mercado and Gary David of the Tigers. It sure is fun to watch them go at each other but guess who stole the show -- Mac Cardona.

I knew this was gonna be a close battle. Yes, it was close I was right about everything except for the winning team that I predicted (Powerade Tigers). Nevertheless, I was happy with the result.

Gabby Espinas may be the leading scorer (he had 25 points, by the way) for the Bolts but it Mac Cardona's heroics overshadowed it. He finished with 18 points for just being clutch.

Gary David of the Tigers chalked up 26 points in a losing effort.

The Meralco Bolts (6-4) remain in 5th place while the Powerade Tigers are at the bottom 3 with 3-6 record alongside the Alaska Aces (1-7) and the Shopinas.com Clickers (0-8).
