Adidas goes MEGA

The folks from the 3 stripes are once again introducing a new tech-lifestyle line for March 2011 -- the Adidas Originals Mega Collection. It's pretty much the same as the usual Originals line but with a technological twist to it. The Mega versions of the Originals now boasts with the Torsion and Soft Cell technology -- the same stuff that you normally see on Adidas Basketball and Running sneaks.

The Mega collection have a much sleeker design that not only that classic style but also performance. If you want classic sneakers with an updated design, the Adidas Originals Mega Collection's got you covered.

The Mega Collection will be available starting March 1 at all Adidas Originals Concept stores in the Philippines.

Global launch of tech-lifestyle footwear line in Spring/Summer 2011

01 March 2011, Manila, Philippines – adidas Originals launches a new holistic tech-lifestyle collection, the MEGA 2011. The new collection consists of fresh sneaker models featuring two of the most iconic adidas technologies amplified in modern street style – “Torsion” and “Soft Cell.” In its second season, MEGA will offer eight different models, both hi-top and lo-top versions, in a variety of colorways including styles for both men and women.

Representing the iconic sportswear label for the street, adidas Originals draws on its rich heritage in sport and ground-breaking technologies. Both “Torsion” and “Soft Cell” have their roots in former athletic footwear. Taking inspiration from these functional technologies, the adidas Originals MEGA concept super-sizes these iconic elements and brings in contemporary design for a transition from functional gear to street lifestyle. The adidas Originals MEGA concept responds to the needs of today’s consumer groups who want to wear leisure footwear with a quite technical yet stylish appeal without going out for a run with it.

A new execution of the Mega Soft Cell technology will be introduced, called the Mega Soft Cell Lite. It offers all the comfort and cushion that can be found in any Soft Cell shoe, but exposes the Soft Cell creating a lighter-weight shoe and a new visual. Key styles for the upcoming season include the Mega Soft Cell RL (RL = Run Lite) that features this new Soft Cell execution as well as the Mega Soft Cell RH (RH = Run Heel) and Mega Soft Cell BHL (BHL = Back Heel Low), which takes the same technology that was introduced in Fall/Winter with the Mega Soft Cell RF (RF = Run Full) and places it specifically in the heel to give a maximum of heel comfort but a more traditional forefoot look.

The adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2011 MEGA Soft Cell Lite collection will be available for Php 3,695 – 4,695 in the following adidas Originals Corners at adidas Mall of Asia, Greenbelt3, Trinoma, Rockwell, Ayala Center Cebu, Glorietta, Robinson’s Place Ermita and Eastwood.
