This is like deja vu for Ateneo and Adamson U. Both teams still tied in 3rd place and in must win games in the same day yet again. Not exactly what they had in mind. One thing's for sure, losing is not an option. On the brighter side, they both face struggling teams, the NU Lady Bulldogs and UE Lady Warriors respectively. At least both UE and NU have something in common though, they got swept by DLSU and UST last Saturday.

Adamson didn't waste time in the first set against National University. It didn't take long for the Lady Falcons to take the win in set number 1. They also dominated the second set as Adamson took the 2-0 lead over NU with no problems at all until the 3rd set came.

The Lady Bulldogs finally woke up, smelled the coffee and fought back in the 3rd set. NU's Maricar Nepomuceno was all fired up gave Adamson a piece of her mind and Ria Sante decided to join in as well. They played their best set in the game and held Adamson to 9 measly points. NU took over and took set number 3. The Lady Falcons obviously got an earful from their Coach Dulce Pante after their woeful 3rd set.

In the 4th and final set HOWEVA, Adamson got their claws out and showed NU they mean business. A loss would pull them down to the 4th spot would give Ateneo an edge in the standings. The Lady Bulldogs played with the same energy but Angela Benting of Adamson wasn't about to let NU punk them again. Soon enough, The Lady Falcons finally shut down the Lady Bulldogs and sealed their 3-1 victory. A hard fought win no doubt for Adamson.

Adamson's Angela Benting was the obvious choice for the Shakey's Best Player of the Game award with 17 points while teammate Pau Soriano finished with 16 points (13 attacks, 2 blocks and 1 service ace). Oh and Jenalyn "Kaboom" Ortega got some action for the Lady Falcons, by the way.

Meanwhile, it's now Ateneo's turn for their match against UE. The Lady Eagles are expected to get the all important win for the tight race for third seed. UE has yet to make a statement in the second round.

Like their previous games, the Lady Warrior went off to a good start in the 1st set but their momentum wouldn't last long. Ateneo came surging once they got the lead and never looked back. Lady Eagles easily take set number 1.

Same thing in the second set but this time, it's the Lady Eagles turn to toss it up first. Kite Rosale of UE once again took matters into her own hands. HOWEVA, the Lady Warriors took a nap on defense gave the Lady Eagles easy points. With UE's defensive lapses, Ateneo have the lead at 2-0.

Similar result in the 3rd and final set. Ateneo's Fille Cainglet and Bea Pascual were on a scoring fiesta once again. The Lady Warriors' ace Kite Rosale tried to lift her team but all her efforts were in vain and losing to the Lady Eagles were already inevitable. Ateneo swept UE in no time in the 3rd set at 3-0. Ateneo are once again tied with Adamson in third place.
