FEU falls to UST, La Salle roll past UP

The defending champions UST Tigresses got into yet another 5-setter game before officially claiming the number 2 spot in the tournament. A win over FEU would not only guarantee them the number 2 spot but also the twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four. While the FEU Lady Tams have already sealed their ranking at number 5, upsetting the defending champs would make it even sweeter.

FEU won 2 straight sets shocking UST in the process. The Tigresses were able to escape the upset by winning the 3rd set. In the fourth set however, the Lady Tamaraws almost had the Tigresses number but Aiza Maizo and Judy Caballejo took matters in their own hands and lifted UST for an equalizer forcing a 5th and deciding set.

FEU's veteran Maica Morada wasn't about to give up as she literally gave UST a run for their money in set number 5. Caballejo caught fire once again helping UST pull away to finally fend off their pesky FEU opponents 3-2. The Lady Tam's Maica Morada finished with 16 points.

Judy Caballejo of UST was named Shakey's Best Player of the Game with 19 points (16 attacks and 1 service ace) while teammate and Captain Aiza Maizo added 19 points (15 attacks and 4 blocks).
